Join APA NYM Tappan Zee section and Westchester Municipal Planning Federation for a Discussion of Edge-on-Hudson and a walking tour to follow.

Edge on Hudson is a large redevelopment in the Village of Sleepy Hollow at the former General Motors assembly plant. Event will include presentations and a walking tour.

Edge on Hudson is a large redevelopment in the Village of Sleepy Hollow at the former General Motors assembly plant. Event will include presentations and a walking tour. 

Presentation and discussion with Peter Chavkin, the Managing Member at Biddle Real Estate Ventures and David Smith, the consulting planner for the Village of Sleepy Hollow regarding the currently being developed Edge-on-Hudson’s. The project includes the redevelopment and revitalization of 70 acres that were formally a General Motors assembly plant. After the discussion there will be a walking tour of the site to see the site.  

In this session, attendees will learn about:

  • The history of the approval and planning process and the partnership with the Village of Sleepy Hollow

  • The project and its relationship with land use, zoning, capital investments, housing, transportation, and economic development 

  • Community benefits that are a result of the project

  • Key transit-oriented development design of the site

  • Applying lessons from this project to planning contexts of large scale redevelopment of former industrial sites
