Barry Dinerstein has over two decades of experience with the NYC Department of City Planning. He currently serves as Deputy Director of Housing, Economic, and Infrastructure Planning, and often represents City Planning as a liaison with many key agencies including NYCEDC. Barry has been instrumental in crafting new zoning regulations to help develop vibrant retail opportunities in NYC. This includes the development of the NYC Food Retail Expansion to Support Health (FRESH) program which helped to develop supermarkets in under-resourced communities ranging from the South Bronx to Woodside Queens, neighborhoods in Brooklyn and beyond. Barry has also been instrumental in developing large numbers of BIDs, IDAs, and Special districts throughout NYC which have resulted in the expansion of park space, public accommodations, and programming in our neighborhoods.
