Interchange & Arterial Conceptual Analysis

The Dutchess County Transportation Council (DCTC), located in Poughkeepsie, NY, seeks consultant services to complete an operational and conceptual analysis of two regionally significant, closely-related state highways in the City and Town of Poughkeepsie: 1) the US 9 & US 44/NY 55 interchange, and 2) the US 44/NY 55 arterials. These two facilities, which define the area’s transportation system,  serve a high volume of vehicles and experience a high number of crashes. The DCTC wishes to explore how these facilities can be redesigned to improve transportation safety, increase travel time reliability, better support non-motorized travel, and improve local quality of life. This includes identifying actions that could be taken to better accommodate walkers, bikers, and transit customers, while also balancing the need to move a high volume of vehicles (including freight) in a safe and efficient manner.
