Job Description
STV is seeking a Senior Transit Planner to be based out of STV NYC or Newark, NJ offices
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading pursuits to win new transit planning contracts (rail and bus), managing projects, and managing staff and supporting their development.
The Transit Planner is responsible for:
- Managing and leading transit planning projects and tasks, establishing and tracking project scope, schedule, budget, and QAQC.
- Assisting senior staff in coordinating efforts of multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of transit-related planning and engineering contracts
- Leading transit planning project pursuits, prepositioning STV with clients and forming strategic teaming arrangements to win key projects.
- Expanding market share with STV’s existing and future clients, including MTA, NYCEDC, PANYNJ, NYCDOT, and NYSDOT.
- Supporting development of the STV’s NYC-based planning department staff.
Required Experience:
- Direct experience successfully delivering transit planning projects for both rail and bus, such as feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, and advanced studies in-line with FTA Small/New Starts and FRA Project Development.
- Ability to manage staff and promote professional development through clear communication, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Desire to develop and maintain strong client relationships through targeted client interaction and marketing.
- A minimum of 10 years of related work experience, preferably serving clients in the New York metropolitan area.
- AICP or PE professional certification preferred.
- Master’s degree in planning or engineering preferred.
