Position Definition: Performs professional planning services in the functional areas of land use, economic development, housing, the environment, community engagement, population analysis, transportation and related planning areas.
Receives oral or written direction from the Director of Planning and Zoning. Plans and organizes work according to Department or standard procedures. Establishes work priorities. Compiles and analyzes data on economic, social and physical factors affecting land use. Reviews economic base and employment data, demographic, housing and income data for community development. Administers, reviews and makes recommendations on commercial, recreational, office, industrial and residential development proposals. Reviews land use and development applications including site, landscape, grading plans, drainage plans, and architectural designs for compliance with City codes, policies, standards, and good planning principals. Creates recommendations and draft reports for the Zoning Commission and other land use commissions.
