Job Description


We are seeking a Planner in our New York City office to support projects involving environmental review, land use planning, feasibility studies and transportation planning. The position will primarily entail preparation of environmental impact assessment in compliance with New York City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR), New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements. Additionally, this position will include support to land use planning services, preparation of feasibility studies, real estate assessments, and regulatory “due diligence” investigations.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Planner, we’ll count on you to:

  • Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, CEQR/SEQRA/NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents
  • Prepare development feasibility studies and real estate assessments
  • Collect project-related data, which may include research, interviews with government agencies, map reviews, field investigations
  • Conduct air quality and noise studies
  • Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings


Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities:

  • Master’s degree in planning or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in planning or related field
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of New York City, New York State, and federal environmental and land use review requirements
  • Comprehensive understanding of land use and urban planning concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ArcGIS, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with air quality and noise studies is a plus
  • AutoCAD is a plus
