The Town and Village of Woodstock, Vermont are looking for an organized, diplomatic, and collaborative individual to serve as Municipal Planner and Administrative Officer. Woodstock is located 20 minutes from both Vermont Law School and Dartmouth College. Over eighty percent of Village structures are located within the Village National Register Historic District. Woodstock is home to Vermont’s only National Park – the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Historic Park. Outdoor activities are abundant with numerous mountain biking and ski areas nearby.

Woodstock was the first Vermont town to have a Design Review District, Scenic Ridgeline Zoning, and to have mapped and regulated Class III Wetlands. The citizens are very supportive of the planning and zoning process.

The Planning and Zoning Administrator is responsible for compliance with both Town and Village Zoning Regulations, creation of long-range land use planning, support of the following: Planning Commission, Conservation Commission, Design Review and Development Review Boards.

A bachelor’s degree in land use planning, public administration, legal studies, or similarly applicable discipline is required, a master’s degree and AICP certification is encouraged. Prior experience in local government is required. Starting pay would be $60 – $75k based on experience and education.
