Job Description
Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) seeks a community-minded, creative, and committed individual to join a focused team creating digital equity plans and implementing digital equity activities to help bridge the digital divide in Berkshire County.
The selected American Connection Corps (ACC) Fellow will play a key role in engaging municipal leaders, small business owners, and residents of all ages, incomes, and abilities to support their gaining digital equity, access, and literacy/skills at a critical moment when all are essential to the quality of life and economic mobility.
The ACC Fellow’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assisting with in-person and virtual public engagement, including social media and website content; conducting survey research and analysis; organizing and co-leading group meetings and focus groups; conducting interviews; and drafting digital equity plans that speak to diverse audiences.
After digital equity plans are complete, the ACC Fellow will support community-based organizations in remaining focused on digital equity advocacy and outreach, securing funding to implement digital equity recommendations, and facilitating activities such as Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) enrollment, device distribution, and public Wi-Fi modernization.
The fellowship is a temporary, one-year, full-time position serving Berkshire County through the American Connection Corps, Lead for America program, with funding from the Massachusetts Broadband Institute.
