Parks and public spaces are the hearts of New York City neighborhoods. City residents rely on their parks to build safe, healthy and vibrant communities where they can relax, play and connect with each other. In New York City and in cities across the country, elected officials, staff, and community groups are pursuing new strategies to improve park access and equity, and proactively engaging residents in the process. This discussion will showcase the work underway in San Francisco, Washington, DC, and other cities, and explore the relationship between park access and equity.

Speakers include Vaughn Perry, Equitable Development Manager at 11th Street Bridge Park, Phil Ginsburg, General Manager at San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Malo A. Hutson, Director at Urban Community and Health Equity Lab at Columbia, Mitchell J. Silver, Commissioner of NYC Parks.
