  • APA EventBike Sharing and Shared Mobility

    The panel discussion will teach about issues associated with bike sharing from municipalities that have implemented bike sharing programs.  Attendees will learn about best practices in bike sharing including how to appropriately size programs, where to locate bikes, markets that might use bikes to replace auto trips and other relevant issues to employing successful bicycle programs.  There will also be a session on the broader issue of shared mobility and the various modes that shared mobility encompasses such as bikes, micro-transit and ride hailing services.

  • Planning for Alternative Energy Solutions

    WHEN: Tuesday, October 29, 2019 12:00 am

    The Westchester Municipal Planning Federation and the Hudson Valley East Section of the APA NY Metro Chapter will host a panel discussion on implementing alternative energy solutions in the context of the natural gas moratorium. The discussion will cover battery storage for homes and businesses, geothermal heat pumps, and solar. Topics will include barriers to installation, state and local regulations, and municipal board considerations. Panelists will include regulators (NYSDERDA), architects, and industry representatives (ConEd).

    This event is free for members of the APA-NY Metro Chapter and members of WMPF.  There is a $40 fee for individuals who are not personal or organizational members of WMPF or APA-NYM.

    The program will be held at: Warner Library, 121 North Broadway, Tarrytown, NY (accessible by Bee-Line Bus, Hudson Link, MetroNorth. Bike racks on-site. Off-street and on-street parking available.)

  • Regional Planning Panel Discussion

    Please join the APA NYM Transportation Committee for a panel discussion on regional planning challenges and opportunities in the New York City metropolitan area.
