2018 Transportation Scavenger Hunt
Brooklyn-Queens Waterfront, Brooklyn,
Event Type: Other
Join fellow members of the APA’s New York Metro Chapter and members of the Young Professionals in Transportation NYC Chapter for the sixth annual Transportation Scavenger Hunt! Teams of 3-6 people will scour Brooklyn-Queens between the Queensboro Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge in search of answers to clues about the neighborhoods’ transportation history.
This year we are partnering with Urban Archive, a location-based mobile platform that empowers New Yorkers to learn about history where it happened. The app brings together the digital collections of New York City’s museums, archives, and libraries in an easy-to-use resource built for discovery. Teams will use the app’s historic photos and our organizers’ written clues to ‘check in’ to locations throughout our hunt zone. You can also upload your own photos to show what sites look like today. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams during a networking event at the end of the hunt.
