With the opening of Grand Central Madison in January 2023, located below the historic Grand Central Terminal, Long Island Rail Road service now goes directly to Manhattan's east side for the first time ever.
Built on a former train storage yard, the 350,000 SF terminal features spacious concourses, public art, and a retail program. Grand Central Madison is both a functional transit hub, as well as designed as a public space.
This tour will be given by Paul Grether, Chief of Grand Central Madison Operating Company, and will include:
Introduction and orientation in the Grand Central Madison Office
A visit to the Grand Central Madison Operations Center
A guided tour of the concourse, mezzanine and platforms
