In many ways, small and MWBE practices sit right at the center of the new city administration's ambitions to advance economic justice. Their relationships with community-based organizations and agility in times of technological and political change make them key to realizing economic justice in all its forms.

Through this event, we want to create a space to talk candidly about the strengths small firms bring to realizing the city's economic justice and climate goals, while also addressing the challenges and risks inherent to building and sustaining a practice today.

This is important work in its own right: beyond advancing economic justice on the ground, supporting small firms is economic justice work. Now is the time to think together, as an industry and as peers, about what the relational and structural conditions for that success actually look like.
