Call for APA New York Metro Chapter 2025 Award Nomination
The APA New York Metro Chapter awards encompass a variety of achievements and include recognition for seasoned leaders as well as those just beginning to make their mark. Projects in the private and public sectors qualify, as well as community-based and civic advocacy initiatives. Innovation and impact are highly valued as are those initiatives that demonstrate collaboration and education. Projects at all scales are equally considered.
Lawrence M. Orton Award for leadership in city and regional planning. The Lawrence M. Orton Award is presented to an individual or project that has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing regional and city planning. It recognizes visionaries who have significantly contributed to shaping cities and regions through innovative planning practices and policies. Nominations for this award can include a project or an individual.
Paul Davidoff Award for leadership in housing and equal opportunity. The Paul Davidoff Award is named in honor of the renowned planner and civil rights advocate who championed inclusionary planning processes and fought for affordable housing and equitable urban development. This award recognizes projects and initiatives that advance the cause of housing justice and ensure equal opportunities for all residents. Nominations for this award can include a project or an individual.
Andrew Haswell Green Award to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions for a period of at least 15 years. This award recognizes an individual who has shown dedication to improving the built environment, promoting sustainable development, and fostering community engagement. Nominations for this award can include an individual or individuals.
Mitchell J Silver, FAICP Meritorious Service or Achievement Award. The Mitchell J Silver award recognizes work of unusual merit or achievement to the Planning Profession to benefit historically underrepresented communities. Nominations for this award can include a project or an individual.
Maxine Griffith, FAICP Award for trailblazer in planning in the New York region. The Maxine Griffith Award is presented to a leader who has made exceptional contributions to the field of urban planning in the New York region. This award honors individual and projects that exemplify vision, leadership, and a commitment to fostering sustainable and equitable urban growth. Nominations for this award can include a project or an individual.
William H. White Award for creativity and ingenuity in planning. Named in honor of the renowned urbanist, sociologist, journalist and people watcher. Nominations for this award can include a project or an individual.
