Welcome to the American Planning Association (APA) New York Metro Chapter’s website. We are a local chapter of the 41,000-member APA, a national organization dedicated to creating livable communities of lasting value.

Our Chapter has over 1,200 members involved in the planning and design of the region’s communities located throughout New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley. We seek to advance the planning arts and science while promoting the professions and offering continuing educational opportunities. Our membership is composed of APA members, students, young planners, retired planners, and American Institute of Certified Planners professionals.
