Submit Panel or Workshop Ideas for ‘Hindsight 2017’ Conference

Dear friends and colleagues,

Got an idea for a panel or workshop to help planners and community development professionals support more equitable neighborhoods? Organize and submit it!

This fall marks the 100th Anniversary of Buchanan v. Warley (1917), the Supreme Court decision that invalidated racial zoning on 14th Amendment grounds. In honor of this anniversary, this early November in New York City, the American Planning Association New York Metro Chapter’s Diversity Committee will be hosting Hindsight 2017: a day-long conference to shed light on planning’s role in shaping today’s inequitable neighborhoods, and highlight planning as a means to achieve more inclusive, just, and equitable places. Exact date, time, and location of the conference will be finalized over the next coming weeks (likely Nov 2/3/9/10).

We invite you and the general public to begin submitting proposals for innovative sessions (panels, workshops, skill-share) that focus on the theme and ensure a diversity of panelists and speakers. Please follow the guidelines stated in the Request for Session Proposals (RFSP).

Deadline to submit: August 31st, 2017 by 5pm.
Proposal teams will be notified of selection by September 30, 2017.
