FAICPs

Election to Fellow in AICP (FAICP) is one of the highest honors that the American Institute of Certified Planners bestows upon a member. This honor recognizes the achievements of the planner as an individual, elevating the Fellow before the public and the profession as a model planner with significant contributions to planning and society. Fellowship is granted to planners who have been members of AICP and have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public/community service and leadership.

Fellows are members of the College of Fellows (COF). The COF is primarily concerned with mentorship and future advancement of the profession of planning. As outstanding professionals in the field of planning, Fellows address student organizations and/or state APA conferences or professional development programs. COF is presently drafting its mission and organizational bylaws. In addition, several Fellows serve on the selection jury for the next class of Fellows.

The New York Metro Chapter is pleased to announce a new education series entitled "Evenings with the Fellows" that will allow planners to spend time with our FAICPs in an informal exchange in intimate settings.  The first will be held in January 2011 with details to follow.
