Firm Highlights: ACP-Visioning & Planning, Ltd. (ACP) was formed to improve the livability of communities through the integration of visioning and physical planning. The firm helps to empower individuals, municipalities, community groups, businesses, foundations and public institutions to join forces and enhance the livability of the communities in which they live.

ACP's Approach

* Places citizens at the heart of planning - through meaningful public participation.
* Gets things done effectively - through a mix of intuitive and informed activities.
* Conveys ideas with clarity through effective visual and verbal communication techniques.
* Facilitates implementation through ownership of the results and continuity in how communities make decisions.

ACP works with communities of all sizes, from small villages and townships to cities, counties, and regions. Projects include, among others, the regions of Baltimore, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Birmingham, Knoxville, the cities of Houston, Ogden, and Santa Fe, Hamilton County, Ohio and Manatee County, Florida. Their clients include neighborhood organizations, planning agencies, local governments, not-for-profit organizations, institutions, and foundations.

The firm has gained national recognition for projects in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the New York City region, metropolitan Washington D.C., Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Hamilton County, Ohio. Vision 2000, a pioneering project in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is credited with stimulating over a billion dollars in development projects in that community. Recently, Imagine New York: Giving Voice to the People's Visions, one of the largest public participation efforts to help plan the redevelopment of the World Trade Center and Lower Manhattan, was awarded the 2003 American Vision Award by the American Planning Association. Nearly 4,000 people from three states contributed to 250 Imagine New York workshops and 25 charrettes over four months.

ACP is led by two Principals: Gianni Longo & Jamie Greene, AIA, AICP. Together they have over 35 years of planning experience.
